Too much Jamie & Claire?
Feb. 26th, 2008 01:18 pm- The Chemist listens to books during the drive to work. He tends more toward classic fantasy and science fiction. Right now he's listening to all of Diana Gabaldon's work. He asked if I'd read them and I mentioned that I read the first one while we were on vacation in Hawaii but wasn't interested in continuing the series. His general review? That he loves the history and the plotting, but wishes that DG would spend less time on the relationship and sex between Jamie and Claire. I had to laugh.
- The Biochemist recommends Libba Bray's YA series, which I have TBR.
- I'm trying to figure out why the totally screwed up and independent Sirantha Jax (from Ann Aguirre's awesome Grimspace) appeals to me, but Danny Valentine irritated me to the point of abandoning the promising series.
- I couldn't find a single book that looked interesting at any of the book stores or magazine stands at the airport in Houston. And (this may be a first) we didn't go bookshopping over the weekend. Maybe someone should check our temperatures -- were we ill that book browsing did not occur?
