More books TBR now
Sep. 24th, 2006 02:11 pmBorders' email bulletins are an example of marketing genius. Send out a 30% coupon, and watch the book-ophiles drop bundles. I know what they are doing, but I still can't help myself. Yes, send out a coupon good only for one book, but know that they'll recoup that 30% elsewhere, because how often do booklovers leave the bookstore with a single book? I can't remember ever leaving with only one -- really, that'd be heartless. The poor little lonely book, sitting in the bag alone. Gotta buy couple of books at least, so they have each other for company.
What I was looking for? A trade paper back version of Charles Mann's 1491. But it won't be released until sometime next month. Which means another trip to the bookstore. ::heaves martyred sigh:: Guess I'll have to go back next month.
What did I end up buying?
Magic Study by Maria Snyder (used the discount here, so the hardback ended up at trade-sized price)
Tam Lin by Pamela Dean
Do Over by Niki Burnham
Series/category by Kristin Hardy
