More books to look for
Sep. 16th, 2006 07:18 pmLike my TBR pile isn't large enough, or my TBB list long enough:
My Big Fat Supernatural Wedding P.N. Elrod, editor (paranormal)
Warrior & Witch by Marie Brennan (fantasy/paranormal)
Glass Houses by Rachel Caine (YA vampire)
Liberty by Kimberly Iverson (historical -- Roman Empire, w/ a gladiatrix)
The Rose of York: Crown of Destiny by Sandra Worth (England 1400s, Richard III)
Magic Study by Maria Snyder (fantasy)
What Came Before He Shot Her by Elizabeth George (mystery)
Two HP authors that I cannot seem to give up on (Emma Darcy and Robyn Donald) have books out next month, so I'll add them to the list, despite the fact that their last books were clunkers, IMO. Donald needs to just say no to connected books, royalty and settings outside of New Zealand.
LKH has a collection of short stories coming out, Strange Candy, but I've given her up because the last Anita Blake book I read was just poorly edited porn. Porn doesn't particularly bother me, but the complete lack of plot and the heinous abuse of the English language did me in. Finito.
Sometime later this fall, Dell is going to reissue an old Balogh trad, The Gilded Web, which I don't think I've read :)
Meg Cabot has another Size 12 chick lit/mystery coming out, too.
Oooh, La Nora's Rebellion is being reissued -- I could be wrong, but I think that's the only straight up historical that she's ever written.
The anthology, The Lipstick Chronicles, is being released in mmp -- I loved one story (an older woman-younger man story by Vivian Leiber) but didn't care for the rest, so I didn't buy it as in trade-size, but might be willing to cough up for the mmp.
