Mexican election and Lover Awakened
Sep. 6th, 2006 08:23 amI've been reading about the allegations of fraud and the electoral recount for the Mexican presidential election. It is getting shockingly little airtime in the news media to me -- this is our international neighbor. Political instability (one president elect, and a presidential claimant who is planning on calling his own constitutional convention? Seems unstable to me. But what do I know?) leads to other instability -- economic, social. Does anyone really think this won't effect the United States, one way or another?
Started Lover Awakened. I'm feeling a little leery, to tell the truth. I haven't read much yet, but I keep thinking of Bonnie Dee's book about the tattoo'd circus guy -- yeah, he got an HEA, but I found it hard to believe that a single person could "heal" him, he was so screwed up. If Zsadist is that twisted about sex and his self esteem and body image, how will Bella's love and her magic vagina alone save him? I dunno. Seems like he'd need some intensive therapy, too.

Date: 2006-09-06 06:03 pm (UTC)But I cried at the end. I actually cried, which I don't think I've ever ever ever done before. It's incredibly amazingly wonderful. And while one has to suspend just a slight measure of disbelief, it's so amazing in all other respects, it's really really easy to do.
But then there's Wellsie. And Phury. And John. And, god help us all, Rehvenge. OMG, it's unbelievable. I thought a year was too long for Suz's books, but let me tell you, six months is waaaaaay too long for Ward's books.
