The September releases I'm looking forward to:

The Gladiator's Honor by Michelle Styles. (Harlequin Historical) How many romances are set in Rome, circa 65 CE? Definite buy.

Girl in a Box by Sujata Massey. (Mystery) Next installment of the Rei Shimura series. I was disappointed where she took Rei personally in the last book, although I liked the new horizons opening for her professionally. This is a hardback, so it'll be a library read until it is released in mass market.

Lover Awakened by J.R. Ward. (Paranormal) Pre-ordered already.

Slave to Sensation by Nalini Singh. (Paranormal) Also pre-ordered.

Invisible Lives by Anjali Banerjee. (Chick lit) Loved Banerjee's Imaginary Men (which I blogged about here), didn't realize this was due out in Sept. Definite buy.

Sex and the South Beach Chicas by Caridad Pineiro. (Chick lit) Like her category books, am not sure how she'll translate to a trade paperback. Will skim at the bookstore, and decide then if I'm going to buy.

To Rescue a Rogue by Jo Beverly. (Regency set European historical) I'm feeling wishy-washy about buying or not. But I definitely want to read it.

Take Two by Evangeline Anderson. (Erotica) I really liked her ebook, The Assignment, so I'm going to buy this book, a trade paperback from Aphrodisia.

Mistress for a Weekend by Susan Napier. (Series) The title makes me cringe, but I like Susan Napier, and this is her first release in a couple of years. Pre-ordered.

Puccini's Ghosts by Morag Joss. (Mystery) Looks interesting, added it to the library list, since it's a hardback and I've never read Joss before.

Dead Man Rising by Lilith Saintcrow. (Fantasy) Probably I should read the first Dante Valentine book before shelling out for this book.

Books coming in October or later:
Grave Surprise by Charlaine Harris. (Mystery, Paranormal) Second in the Grave series, in which Harper sees dead people.

Murder in the North End by P.B. Ryan. (Mystery) Next installment of the Nell Sweeney Guilded Age Mysteries.

Queen of Shadows by Edith Felber. (Historical Fiction) Fictionalized book about the wife of Edward II (I think she was Isabel, a princess of France, a woman to be reckoned with, unless I'm confusing the kings Edward).

Check? What check? *looks around to make sure no one overheard*

I went back and checked my spreadsheet -- your books weren't there, although I know I read them and posted about them in 2006. I write the list in my planner, since I'm usually not at a computer with the spreadsheet at hand when I finish reading. Then I update the spreadsheet once a week. [I know, duplicative. But I'm still attached to handwriting some stuff.] Off to do a line by line comparison of the planner and the spreadsheet -- I hope I haven't missed other books.

I loved loved loved STS. Okay, enough gushing.

JM, I've not read Dead Man Rising, but I think you probably should read Working For The Devil first.

I read one of the Massey books, but wasn't impressed. If you like Japan stories, have read Barry Eisler's Rain books?

I haven't read Barry Eisler, so I'll add the Rain books to my list of books to read. I started reading Massey's books after hearing her speak at a library function, and liked the glimpse into Japanese culture from the perspective of someone who almost fits in . . . but not quite.

I haven't heard of Styles before, so she may be new. Or maybe I am just unobservant and she has been publishing historicals for ages. I picked up a copy last night, will post a review after I've finished.
