Smuggler's Bride by Darlene Marshall
Aug. 1st, 2006 11:35 pmI wrote a short review of Darlene Marshall's Smuggler's Bride over on my other blog. Well, really it was more of a very short plot summary; by the time I finished writing the summary, I didn't have the heart left to write my opinion. I'll edit the post tomorrow to include that. And then I'll post the review here in English, probably along with reviews for the other two pirate books.
Short summary: like the setting, which is different (19th century Florida); like the characters; like the way history, politics, economy, etc. are worked into the plot without infodumping. B+ for me. The only thing that kept it from being an A was Julia's continued insistance that Rand lied to her and deceived her . . . without ever acknowledging that she lied to and deceived him, too.
