I've been tagged by Jennie:
1) When did you start blogging and why? I first created my account here at LiveJournal last October. I hadn't really decided what I was going to blog about though, so I only posted a couple of times. It wasn't until late November that I started posting regularly. I started blogging because I loved bloghopping and interacting with other bloggers, and didn't want to hog the comment section on the blogs I visited frequently. Voila, my own blog which I can hog to my heart's content.
2) What don't you talk about? Sex and religion, except in the context of specific books. Anything in a book I'm reading is fair game, really. I try not to post too much about work, because it isn't interesting unless you are me. The family stuff I try to keep vague, too, for the same reason.
3) Are you and your blogging persona the same person? Pretty much. Incoherent sometimes. Going off on tangents. Sometimes lacking precision. Sticking my foot in my mouth occasionally.
4) How do you use blogging to build friendships? Although I have "met" a variety of fascinating, intelligent, well-written and well-spoken people via blogging, I didn't really have a plan or intent to build friendships when I started. Mostly, I started blogging because I like hearing what other people have to say about the books they are reading, and getting feedback about the books I've read. Did you like the book better than me? Why? Did I miss something, or is it just a matter of different taste and perspective?
5) How would you describe your writing style? Do I have a writing style? I aim for coherence and precision, with varied results. No matter how often I proof-read, I always find something to fix after I post.
Who to tag? I'll be nice (plus, I think everyone else has been tagged already) and do a generic one: anyone who wants to share their entry into the blogosphere, please do so.
