Jul. 9th, 2006 09:14 pmSome poor fool bought the overpriced monstrosity next door. Or is renting it. It isn't really a monstrosity, but if they paid more than $350,000 for it, then it was overpriced and they were screwed royally. Haven't seen anyone, but the windows in front are covered now, and a car with out of state tags has been (poorly) parked on the street out front for the past couple of days. Welcome to the neighborhood.
Watched the men's final at Wimbledon. After the first set, there was some fantastic tennis going on. Rafael Nadal looks like he is about ready to give Roger Federer a fight for the #1 spot. What does it say about me that after admiring the tennis, my next thought was that both players needed haircuts? What, is there a shortage of sharpened scissors or clippers in London right now?
Caught the OT and shoot out of the Italy-France World Cup final. The Italian players looked on the verge of exhaustion, much worse than the French players. From the look of the camera panning Rome, I would imagine there is a great deal of celebrating going on in Italy tonight :)
Saw a commercial for Showtime's new drama Brotherhood. I'm almost sorry I don't get Showtime, because it's got Jason Isaacs. :lustful sigh: The white-blond hair of Lucius Malfoy didn't do anything for me, but I thought he was charming on The West Wing.
Doug has posted a request for the best endings, but I'm having a hard time thinking of a favorite. The last line of The Book Thief -- "I am haunted by humans." -- sticks in my mind, but I still haven't finished the book, so I can't really speak to the ending as a whole. I'm coming up blank otherwise.
