I picked it up at Borders over the weekend and put it back down -- I'm trying to be good and my book buying budget has long since been blown for May. Good thing June is only two days away.

The cover caught my attention, then the book flap description. And then I paged through the book, which includes a huge glossary, maps, etc. Clearly the author spend a huge amount of time building his world. So I want to explore it soon :)

New favorite abbreviation: CBA. Picked up from maybe Maili or KarenS, or maybe another blog. Short for Can't Be Arsed.

Am I the only person who thinks that the naming of the Brangelina baby as "Jolie-Pitt" is giggle-worthy? It must be the teenager lurking in me . . . or the perv, maybe.

Hmmm, a monthly book buying budget. Maybe I should try that.

Jolie-Pitt. Good God. I hadn't heard that. It's just so wrong. Though it's hard to feel sorry for a kid who's going to be rich and famous and beautiful even if he does have the world's worst name. :)

The book budget is relatively new, implemented after I started tracking how much I spent annually using Quicken. It was more than I realized. Sometimes I stick to it...and other times it is blown through in a week :)

I don't feel particularly sorry for the baby, I just wonder at the sense of the parents. Some names just make me scratch my head and wonder, did you want your child to be bullied, teased, etc., through childhood?

I bought this book, too

Hey,

I bought this book, too, and thought the same thing. It looked so detailed and promising that I'm willing to give it a try. I also bought the Kai Meyer book, forget title. I bought a few YA novels, as a matter of fact.

I just looked up Kai Meyer at Amazon -- the Wave Walker series looks really interesting!

Aha, another CBA convert! I have noticed the growing number of people using this phrase just lately. I guess this makes me a trend setter, lol. Over here it's common as muck, but I can't even imagine it being spoken in the American accent!

I haven't spoken it, because it doesn't sound right coming out of my mouth ("arsed" sounds affected with the American accent, while it just sounds right with a British accent), but I like the phrase and I've used it in writing -- in emails and my journal :)
