I'm still procrastinating, so my ebook review for AngieW's challenge hasn't been written. But here's the summary of the other stuff I've read lately.

His Majesty's Dragon and Throne of Jade by Naomi Novik. I've squeeed a little bit about the first book, but not the second. A for both books. If you haven't picked up a copy of them yet, go right now. Not romance, but very much a love story between a man and a dragon. A platonic love story, that it. Full of duty and honor and friendship. Alternate history set in the Napoleonic Wars, except with dragons. Wow. Some of the lanugage was akwkward in spots, and a little bit of editing could've (and should've) tightened the pacing. But still, on the list of the best books of the year so far.

Pug Hill by Allison Pace. Chick lit by the author of If Andy Warhold had a Girlfriend. B. Very much chick lit and not a romance at all. Liked the heroine, although I didn't really get the obsession with pugs.

Stud Finders Incorporated by Alexis Fleming. Erotic Romance. DNF. Big Mis. Bored with heroines who blame their exes for lack of sexuality and who've never had an orgasm.

Bite Club: A West Hollywood Vampire Novel by Hal Bodner. C+. Fairly good horror, interesting take on vampirism. Hero was fairly well-defined, but supporting cast was fully of cliches, even the villain.

Disappearing Nightly by Laura Resnick. B+. Thanks again to Jay! I think that I like Resnick's fantasy/romance better than her straight sci-fi and fantasy, which tends to be a little dense. I look forward to reading more about Esther Diamond and the magicians.

Megan's Mark, which as I previously noted, sucked monkey and donkey balls. Or maybe just lion balls, since it is a book about a lion-human breed.

Love by the Pound by Judy Bagshawe. YA ebook. C-. Extremely dated and old-fashioned YA book -- seemed more 50ish than 00ish, despite recent publication. Fairly typical YA, with heroine learning to respect herself and growing, etc. Mother from hell. Quirky college roommate. TSTL behavior.
