Barbara Samuel/Ruth Wind
Apr. 19th, 2006 08:20 pmPeople (romance readers) seem to love her work, the older straight romance categories by Ruth Wind and the women's fiction by Barbara Samuel. I've tried two of her WF books, an older Silhouette book, a more recent Bombshell, and In the Midnight Rain, which seems like the gateway book to me, the segue from romance to women's fiction. None of them has struck me as rave-worthy. I actively disliked the heroine in one of the WF books, the others were sort of ~meh~. ITMR was good, but not a keeper for me.
There's one more BS/RW book that people rave about Bed of Spices that I'm going to try, otherwise I think I'm going to write her off as another author that others love but I don't. She'll be joining the ranks of Diana Gabaldon, Christine Feehan, etc.
