Vampires vs. Lycans

I liked the movie Underworld. It wasn't particularly good in terms of acting, writing or cinematography, but it had a vampire heroine, plus Bill Nighy and some fairly pretty men. The second Underworld movie? Haven't seen it, thought it looked a little too campy.  Don't know how it fared at the box office.  Color me surprised when I started seeing trailers for Underworld 3: Rise of the Lycans, which I am sort of looking forward to seeing. 

During one commercial, I thought the actor playing Lucian looked familiar. So I googled him and learned that I've admired that actor in other roles. Despite seeing the same name in the credits, I had not connected the guy who played Tony Blair in The Queen and David Frost in Frost/Nixon with Lucian the Lycan in the Underworld movies. I'm just slow I guess. What do you think, should I have realized sooner?

No way, I am good at remembering faces from movies but this guy looks too different in his different roles! wow...

I think the facial hair and expressions make a huge difference. But also, now that I look at the pictures it looks like his hairline was changed a little in The Queen to look more like Blair.

I found this out after I first saw Underworld (on basic cable). I confess I much prefer him as Lucian...*g*
