Oh dear...

Yesterday was a bad commute date, but fortunately I was off, and thus missed the +3 hour delays encountered by the commuters on my usual train during the evening rush. I did receive this email from the customer care group:
The lack of communication when there are delays drives me crazy. What's the point of having a system tracker online that is supposed to send updates if it doesn't work? For the last big delay, a placatory email was sent explaining the "cascading" nature of the delays. Blah blah blah. What you're saying is that you don't have sufficient resources to keep the trains running in a timely way.
Oh the irony -- today's Post has this headline article about the increase in public transportation ridership and the need for improved public transportation infrastructure.
In other news, I am a parallel parking goddess, declared so by a neighbor who watched me wedge my car into a spot with less than two feet of space to spare between the cars in front and behind. Without touching either car. *buffs nails*
Do I look unthreatening and kindly to strangers? I don't know. But I gave four different sets of Boston fans directions to the ball park this weekend, after being approached on the street. It's a good thing the Sox left town last night, otherwise the repeated trouncings would've tempted me to misdirect people.
I am a sheep. Baaaa. I am going to succumb to the crack that is J.R. Ward's BDB, I know it, despite feeling ~meh~ about the last two books.
MARC regrets the delays yesterday evening on the Penn Line. [Boring details you aren't interested in, really. One left late, broke down, had to be pushed by the train behind it, delaying all trains following. Plus some other stuff.]....
MARC is also addressing the need for better communications with Amtrak to inform passengers under these circumstances.
MARC and Amtrak made these decisions based on a concern for the safety of the passengers while trying to expedite all of the trains. MARC is currently reassessing this decision with Amtrak.
Again we are sorry for the inconvenience and lack of communications.
