  • The new Landmark Theatre on the east side of the harbor?  Beautiful.  Upscale for a movie theatre, which doesn't surprise me, given the location and intended market.  There's a full bar next to the concession stand...which sells, among other treats,  Tim Tams.
  • My alma mater made it to the NCAA mens basketball tournament for the first time ever, and the alumni list serve is ecstatic.  I don't follow basketball in any format, but even I know that is a Big Deal.
  • For CindyS (currently on hiatus):  the Woodberry Kitchen had poutine as one of their specials of the day last Saturday.  I'd never seen in on a menu around here, and thought it was just a Canadian version of cheese fries.  Who knew?
  • There were a lot of people wandering around the harbor yesterday wearing green face paint and goofy hats.  Some of them may even have participated in the St. Patrick's Day parade.

OMG I can't remember the last time I had Tim Tams, but now I'm wanting some, lol!

Right now I'm awaiting one of my very favorite Easter treats: http://www.piperscandy.com/

How sad is it that I tend to mark the holidays by the available candy.

Those are some lovely Easter treats :)

I've been looking forward to a homemade buttercream egg. My sort of step-grandmother's church ladies make them for Easter. Probably an entire box of 10X sugar and a whole stick of butter are in one of the eggs...but I can't resist their temptation.

Oh wow, I haven't had cheese curds for years! A friend of my grandparents used to bring them to us from his home in upstate NY. And when they took me to Montreal when I was 11, the cheese curds were my favorite part of the whole trip.

I don't *think* I've ever eaten cheese curds...and they don't look very appetizing in one of the Wiki photos. Are they different from regular cheese?

They're actually kind of like string cheese. Crooked string cheese, and a little more salty, but that's the best comparison I can think of.
