Dear  Jayne,

Thank you for reviewing The Wedding Officer.  I probably would never have noticed it otherwise, which would have been a shame, since it's going to go on my list of Top 10 reads for the year.

I stayed up late to finish reading it, and woke up this morning with a desperate urge for good Italian food.  Not the crappy stuff in the food court.  I wonder how busy i Ricchi will be at lunch time today...or Aida Bistro for dinner.

Thank you muchly,
jmc

Ahh! I need to get it then. :) I wonder when the paperback is coming out? I am off to check.

BTW, I like the new look!

PBS shows that it was out in paperback first...but I'm thinking that was maybe the UK version?

I hunted down a copy of Capella's The Food of Love over the weekend (the library was open! and I needed respite from my crazy family!). After reading the first couple of chapters, I realized that I'd already read it. IMO, The Wedding Officer is a better book. But TFoL is good, too.

Doesn't it just make you want to go to a quiet bistro with some good friends and chow down? I'm so glad you enjoyed it as it's also one of my favorite books of the year. If you like the food aspect, you might want to try Harris' "Five Quarters of the Orange." It does for French food what "Wedding Officer" does for Italian cuisine.
