What is wrong with this phrase?

Employee’s who want to maximize their TSP contributions...

Employee's? Not employees? I know, everyone makes grammar mistakes.  (Especially me.)   But that one was sent agency wide, because apparently no one in our HR office proof reads.

I sometimes miss things, too, but most often than not, it's the date I mess up on and not the grammar. I'm pretty anal-retentive about my grammar, that's why they teasingly call me "Ms. English Teacher" at work. I also work in HR.

I didn't mean to knock our HR office particularly, because I see that kind of thing all the time, coming from several different offices. It was more the idea that the two-sentence email was being sent to +1,000 people, and the opening sentence (opening word!) was off.

Yep. Some of us get so frozen by the 'rules' that we totally forget them. Or like me, I think I'm using them right. I'm beginning to think that Canadians are taught a different way than the rest of the world! Although that sentence is wrong ;) The one I have trouble with is 'it's' and 'its' and yet, I always think I have them right.

Oh, and I'm also ridiculously comma-happy. Don't know why, but I am. I think commas go everywhere.

I had a prof once who said that when in doubt, women will put commas in but men will leave them out. Sexist generalization? I don't know.

I tend to over-comma, too, because I had a grammar teacher tell me once that the comma is a pause, so if you would pause in speech, you should put a pause in the written version as well.
