Holiday food update
Dec. 24th, 2006 02:57 pmBecause the holiday is all about the food, as you can tell by my last couple of posts. We didn't space the first tray of gingerbread men well, so we had siamese twins, a brain-damaged one, and a footless one. It didn't influence the taste, however. Yum. Iced with vanilla butter cream icing. I think I've consumed about a pound of sugar and a whole stick of butter in the last 48 hours.
The Christmas beer is fermenting. I tried a glass of the pre-fermented stuff. Uh, okay, don't like it any better than regular beer.
The Chemist is making a pecan-hazelnut tart; then will do the roast lamb with butternut squash and a beet salad. The Biochemist is slicing cheese. I'm observing from a safe distance, as I am not nearly as proficient as they are. I'll be responsible for pouring wine and probably setting the table. Hey, we can't all be gourmet chefs, y'know!
