Grouchy and grumpy
Jun. 8th, 2007 12:37 pmNot, I'm not one of the dwarves. Unless there was an unpublicized one named Bitchy. It's Friday, so you'd think I'd be a happier person. Maybe tonight, but right now I just feel disgruntled.
One train broke down this morning, which resulted in cancellations, delays, clogged tracks and unhappy commuters. I left my house at 6:30am...arrived at the office at ~9:00am. Driving in (even in DC traffic) would've been less wearing on my nerves.
Anybody know (or understand) Amazon's shipping policy? I ordered two TV series on DVD at the same time and they arrived on the same day in separate packages, presumably from different shipping depots. At the same time, I ordered two books, coming (I think) from a third station. The books have to be signed for and picked up at the post office. Why? They were cheaper than the DVDs, which were left between my screen and front doors.
Maybe some chocolate would help. Or just lunch.
ETA: Yes, I'm like a kindergardener; when my bloodsugar gets low, I get cranky. Ate a turkey sandwich and had a glass of iced tea and I'm in a much better frame of mind.

Date: 2007-06-10 11:26 am (UTC)I swear I don't understand any of the online ordering things. Sometimes they are left in my mailbox and other times I have to go to the post office to pick them up. There is no reason that I can think of and it's certainly not money. It's either weirdly inefficient or efficient. Haven't decided.
Glad that you ended the day in a better frame of mind.

Date: 2007-06-11 04:17 pm (UTC)On the mailing thing, I'm still waiting for the card from the post office telling me I can pick the package up -- I can't pick it up without it; the post office's tracking system says it's ready for pick up though.
:shrugs: It's not like I'm in a rush, though, since I've got lots of stuff to watch and read in the interim. Although that order does contain a verb book that I've been looking forward to for studying for my upcoming final.
