I hate picking out gifts most of the time. I don't begrudge the money or the time or the sentiment, but I always worry about whether they're appropriate. In the back of my mind, I'm imagining that the recipient will look at the gift and wonder, Is she smoking crack?! I'll never use this!

Had a great idea for The Chemist -- have a beer label created. He brews and was thinking about bottling some of his stuff, mostly because he needed to get it out of the way so he could brew some more. But I was disorganized and didn't get started in time, so that'll have to be a holiday gift. Instead he's getting a gift card to The Flying Saucer.

While I was ordering the gift card, I was tempted by this t-shirt from their collection: It's not rocket surgery. In blurry letters. *snickers* I resisted temptation, but really only because the shirt came only in men's sizes with a crew neck -- which always feel like they are strangling me. V or scoop necks, please.

Very cool - I'm also not good with the gifts and am usually clueless. I love when I can just put money in a card and let the people buy what they want. Hubby hates that - not really sure why because he's not the one out looking for the friggin' gift!! Now, I'm just looking for funny gifts - things that will make people laugh and hey, if they want to keep it also then it's all good.

I tend to think that cash is a fine gift :) And gift cards, too, as long as they are specific to the interests of the giftee -- not cards to Walmart or Target, unless that is their favorite store. To the wine store if they like wine; to Sears if they love Craftsman tools; etc.
