Haven't been to Atlanta in several years. Looks like the Field Museum's touring chocolate exhibit is at the Fernbank now. Time to visit again? (Courtesy of Baltimore Snacker.)

Are regional dialects dying in the UK? Maybe. But part of me wonders if that isn't part of the normal life cycle of languages, accelerated maybe by the wonders of mass media.

Who told Rove et al. that they could or should rap? And the hopping around on stage? Ugh. Now, I'm a SC fangirl, so I'm a little biased...but being roasted by him last year was humiliating? More humiliating than this?

I laughed as I read Ellen’s review of Nauti Boy, not because it was funny, but because that was exactly what I thought the last time I tried to read a Lora Leigh book.

Another book on Chechnya that I should find. If I ever finish Anna Politkovskaya’s Dirty War. And Blackwater. And Chalmers Johnson's trilogy.

Wow. That was rap? Did he not know someone was filming him? Yikes!

I haven't braved LL yet as I suddenly remembered something about barbs when I started one of hers.

The White House Correspondents' Association's annual dinner is broadcast on C-SPAN, and now lives forever on You Tube and Google Video. So they *should* have known.

I think LL has two different series going, or maybe more. One with human-animal hybrids, another with SEALs, and Nauti Boy is one of the latter. Meh.

I guess it's okay if you humiliate yourself (I should know!), not so okay if someone else does the humiliating for you. Especially if you know that someone else feels nothing but scorn for you.

This was Rove's way of telling the world what a wild and crazy guy he is. Right.

Hey, you referenced my chocolate reference! Glad I could help. So their chocolate exhibit is in Atlanta now? Too bad it's just as far for me as is Chicago! Maybe it'll wind up in DC next LOL :)

Hi, John!

Yes, the chocolate exhibit in DC would be nice. Given a choice, I'd rather visit Chicago than Atlanta. But I must admit, the museum hosting the exhibit now is pretty nice, or it was when I visited about 7 years ago.
