Short story from author of Poison Study
Mar. 9th, 2007 01:57 amIf you enjoyed Maria V. Snyder's Poison Study or Magic Study, you may want to check out MIRA's online reads -- a short story titled Assassin Study, which appears to be set between the two or maybe at the beginning of the second book (which I haven't read yet; I'm hoarding it, since Fire Study won't be out for a while). One chapter a week will be released; right now just the first chapter is up.
Here's the blurb, in case you want to know before you head over there:
There's also a shot of the beautiful TPB edition of Poison Study. I keep reminding myself that there's nothing wrong with the MMPB that I have, I don't need another copy....
Yelena, the heroine of Maria V. Snyder’s stunning debut novel Poison Study, is on her way to her ancestral homeland of Sitia to be reunited with her family and to learn more about her magical powers. An order of execution hangs over her head should she ever return to Ixia. But her true love, Valek, quickly learns that an assassin has taken it upon himself to make sure Yelena doesn’t reach her destination….And it's interactive, because apparently you'll be able to vote to influence the ending.
As Ixia’s chief of security, and a highly skilled assassin himself, can Valek track down the killer in time to save Yelena’s life?

At the botton of the email informing me of the Snyder short story was a list of the most blogged about books:

I'm wondering which bloggers are talking about these books? I don't think I've read a mention of any of them among the reader blogs I frequent. Where's HQN getting this informaiton?
