I've mentioned that I don't drink coffee, haven't I? I made an impulse purchase the other day -- a Mr. Coffee CocoMotion. What might this be? Exactly what it sounds like. Dump in the milk, add the syrup or powder, snap on the lid. Stirs and heats up evenly. Is an automatic cocoa maker really necessary? Well, I like it since it does away with all lumps that normally occur when I make cocoa. Mmmm.

On the book front, I've just finished Sylvia Day's The Stranger She Married, which I enjoyed a great deal. Hot, hot, hot. Review is percolating.

I just noticed that Romancing the Blog links to me. I don't generally hang out there, although I'll check it out if there's an interesting conversation going on. Why don't I spend much time there? Well, to be honest, it strikes me as more author oriented than reader oriented, and I'm just not concerned about the same craft issues that writers are. But right now I'm wondering how long I've been linked. I'm not offended or anything, just curious. If I had a site meter, I'd be interested in seeing what traffic, if any, came via RtB.

Do you remember if you ever clicked on the 'add your blog to the sidebar'? I only ask because I thought they used a program for the sidebar. I'm not on there *sniff* ;)

I only go there when one of my blog buds mentions they have a post up. Like you, I find it's too author-centric.

And I don't drink anything that is hot. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate etc.

I have Day's book on my TBB list but will be interested in your thoughts.

I don't *think* I clicked on anything to add my link...but you never know. It isn't a bad thing, I was just curious. I don't think I've ever even posted a comment there.

Nothing hot? Do you never get cold? Tea and hot chocolate are my mainstays in the winter.

My thoughts on the Day book will probably be posted tonight when I get home.

I've my link in a prime position on RTB, and honestly, I think I get more hits from people who want to read my Nalini Singh interview.

Well, according to my site-meter, RtB is my biggest single website referrer, with 12% of the total website referals (you're number 31, with 0.5%, just so you know *g*).

To be honest as well, I don't visit there as much as I used to. When they first started I'd visit every morning to see what was up, but I've mostly stopped doing that, and for the same reason you mention. The craft side of writing doesn't interest me in the least, and neither does a lot of the business side. These days, I just visit about once a week and take a look at the latest columns, and read whatever looks interesting.

BTW, this post of yours is very, very timely, because I'm finishing my column for this Saturday, and it's about something I got to thinking about thanks to a comment of yours at DearAuthor.com. Sooo, would you like to be "a poster" or "jmc"? If the latter, get a site meter and see if there is a jump! :-)

Uh oh, what did I say over at DearAuthor?

jmc or "a poster", either is fine.

I'm not sure if I can have a site meter with LJ. At least, not when using one of their templates. If I did the code myself, I'm sure I could...but I'm not that html-smart.
