And there is wild rejoicing going on this very evening at the homes of The Computer Guy and The Boy Uncle, both of whom have been Bears fans for years. They have been loyal fans through two decades of sub-.500 play. Actually, I think The Computer Guy became a Bears fan because of The Boy Uncle, who took him to games at old Veterans Stadium in Philly.

I have no idea who ought to win next week in the AFC and NFC championship games, but I'm hoping it'll be Chicago and New England. Just 'cause. And no, I generally don't pay attention to the Superbowl, unless the Packers are playing, because it tends to be either a blow out or incredibly boring, with a lame half time show. Some of the commercials are interesting, but not worth sitting through all the hours of painful pregame hype and adenoidal retired-players-cum-broadcasters.

Being in United Kingdom ( not very United and no King ) we know nothing much about this game.Soccer and Cricket being the sports here and we are not very good at those any more !!!

The word adeniodal caught my eye as I have just used it ..today..to sling mud at pop "singer" Kylie Minouge who is suddenly enjoying massive local "fame"--- due to recovering from er ....chemo.....she got a cold and could not continue her gig on Saturday... unbelievably tabloid press and TV news have treated it as Front Page news item..and I queried given her usual adeniodal delivery from her teeny weeny squeaky voice anyone would have noticed she had a "cold". Oops..And very off your topic.

American football is...slow and boring compared to soccer, or so I've been told by soccer fans. Watered down rugby, I've heard it called, too. Soccer was a very small sport here when I was a kid, but its popularity is growing :) Cricket, now, I understand is similar to baseball, but I haven't been able to figure it out. Of course, it is seldom televised here, so I don't have the opportunity to see it played. Mostly I hear about it when watching the news on the BBC America channel.

I read about KM's interrupted show, but hadn't realized that it would prompt a tabloid frenzy.

Ha--- you have The Brand Beckham on your shores in LA at the Galaxy Football Club soon...(ghastly media attention seeking twosome,) but his mega bucks and profile may enable you to see more footie soon on your TV.Tom Cruise being their new best friend.!!!

I lived in South Africa for a few years where Rugby rules..now that is exciting.. if a tad rough.Am a basektball and ice hockey fan myself

Kylie walks out the door to buy milk and is front page news.( tabloids only )since cancer almost 2 years ago .Absolutley insane. And she is so medicore and middle of the road.Press like her as she is so bland and inoffensive and has no opinions to rattle cages.!! No mention of Olivier being likewise flattened with flu..maybe he has headed back to Paris after the brief reuinon/make up round 65780000..!! A more unlikely coupling I cannot begin to think of.
