Hummingbird Water
Dec. 22nd, 2006 08:43 amWhat did I do yesterday? Read, ate, drank, read.
Lunch at Mi Luna in Rice Village. Mmmm. B'stilla. And tortilla espanola. And sangria.
Then shopping for cheese (Stilton w/ lemon rind, San Simon, gouda aged enough to have caramelized) and wine (Veltliner) and beer (Fin du Monde) and other goodies (clementines, green ginger tea, sopressato) at Central Market. I was extremely tempted by the brie wrapped in pastry with raspberries, and the brie with roasted red pepers and prosciutto, but we had enough cheese.
And a stop at The Flying Saucer. I'm not a big fan of beer, but The Chemist is (brews it) and so is The Biochemist (drinks it). But I had a Hummingbird Water, which is pear cider with a shot of framboise. Yum. Finished in time to get rained on in the rush to the car.
Mmmm.
Somehow, our holidays always end up being very much about food. Even as I type, The Biochemist is preparing oatmeal muffins. I should go help.
