I'm in Houston, safe and sound. Continental seriously overbooked that flight, and was offering $250 in vouchers, dinner, hotel, breakfast and a seat on the 7:30 am flight. Tempting, but no. I sat next to a little old man who not only hogged the armrest, he invaded my space and kept elbowing me in the side.

Why am I posting if I'm on vacation? 'Cause I'm playing on The Biochemist's iBook, which is cool. I'm adjusting to Safari and to the mouse pad. I think I like the IBM laptop version of the mouse better, but otherwise I'm quite impressed.

Books I've read:

Liberty by Kimberly Iverson. Impressive, IMO. I'll probably write a review and post it after the holidays, but in the mean time, go check out Dear Author, which has a review I agree with mostly. As a counterbalance, though, you should check out AAR for their review -- the opinions about this book seem to be very sharply divided.

Mr. Right Now by Monica Jackson. I will definitely be posting a review about this book upon my return. I had very mixed feelings about it. I very much like Jackson's voice and style here, but the book felt rushed and incomplete to me.

Bareback by Chris Owen. M/M romance. Ebook. Liked it, but felt let down at the end and can't quite figure out why. But I brought another Owen ebook to read over the break, so I'll see if what happens with that one.

Glad to hear you got there, nasty little old man and all!

I have Bareback in my ebookwise, so we'll share impressions when I finally get to it!

Which Owen? I loved "Gemini" and "911." I have yet to buy "Bareback" b/c Stephanie Vaughan didn't like it much in a private un-rec, so I haven't managed to bring myself to get it yet. I should, b/c I love all her other stuff so far.

911. I'm about half way through it, and I'm enjoying it a bit more than Bareback. But Bareback fell apart for me a little at the end, so I'm wondering if 911 will do the same.
