NYT's 10 best

Hat tip to BookSeller Chick for posting the link to the NYT's list of the ten best books of 2006. It has only two in common with the Washington Post list that I linked to earlier: The Omnivore's Dilemma and The Looming Tower: the road to 9/11. Actually, the NYT looks much more interesting (to me) than the WaPo list.

I've heard good things about Special Topics in Calamity Physics. Still think these lists are too pretentious, though!

I agree, they are pretentious. But since I don't pay much attention to literary fiction generally, I'll use the NYT list as a jumping off point. All library books, though, no permanent additions to my bookshelf unless I'm completely wowwed by a book.
