Whole Foods for lunch
Dec. 5th, 2006 01:43 pmI love shopping at Whole Foods periodically, even if some of their products are ridiculously expensive. In my kitchen is a tin of whole, pitted dates that I can pop open and feast upon. And I bought a beautifully ripe avocado -- the last couple have been brown and rubbery. And best of all, Brown Cow cream top yogurt. Chocolate is my favorite flavor, although I'll be trying maple later this week -- I felt experimental while standing in front of the dairy case. I'm sure the cream and the chocolate do away with any benefit gained by consuming yogurt. But still. I can say I had yogurt and a banana for lunch, which sounds better than saying I had a Big Mac or KFC or some other fast food.
Avo question -- do you need a knife to slice yours? I just cut it in half, then pop out the seed/pit, then scoop out the flesh. But I've had two people lately tell me that they bought avo peelers. Should I be using a gadget for this instead of my handy-dandy utility knife and the soup spoon?
