End of the reading slump
Mar. 14th, 2006 10:14 amLast night, I planted myself in the Romance section of Borders until I found a book that grabbed me. Laura Kinsale's Uncertain Magic. And I started Harold Bloom's How to Read and Why, which began well, too. So maybe the slump is over. More reports from the reading front as information develops.
Also stopped at Trader Joe's. There is a reason that I don't shop there often, and it is because I'd be broke. Bought mint cocoa. And cherry-almond-ginger cookies. And frozen chicken tandoori, and a bunch of other stuff that is good but that I didn't really need.
And daffodils are out everywhere! Love daffs. They are so happy and yellow.
Editted to add: Beth's pirate post is the best thing I've read in awhile...I'm thinking that has broken the slump, 'cause it makes me want to read a bodice ripping pirate romance, an 80s era one, with kidnappings, salty-tongued sailors, and passionate proclamations of love and hatred. I sat and giggled about it until a colleague asked me what was so funny. Um, nothing, get back to work.

Yay!
