I was thinking of Schilling and Clemens as I typed my post. WRT that nitpick, in the end I just felt like "routinely" was not the best word choice. Author's prerogative, of course, but in the end I can't believe that even a pitcher of that calibre takes a 20W season for granted or treats it as routine.
