jmc_bksOkay, I've been listening to Brockmann's All Through the Night on audiobook in the car. I've long since read the book (pounced on it like a jonesin' junky the minute it was released). Michael Holland does a fabulous job reading/performing the book, much better than the dual readers for Force of Nature IMO.
Pronunciation thing: Sam's last name is pronounced STAIR-ett here, unlike the last audiobook in which it was star-RETT. Interesting.
One little thing that caught my attention as I listened more than it did as I read: Sam's reaction to Jules transferring to Boston. He's very pissy in the beginning about Jules' choice to have a relationship with Robin, since it will move him off the fast-track to team leader. Uh okay. Except that's Jules' choice. And -wait a minute- didn't Sam make his own (disastrous) personal choices that changed his career path? On one hand, I can see Sam's behavior as a warning (don't do what I did) but on the other hand, it seemed kind of patronizing. Yes, he got over it when he saw how happy Jules was with Robin, but it felt like a Pot-Kettle moment to me.
