Interesting reasons it wouldn't get published and none that I would have guessed. EXTREMELY interesting that the book seems so ...liberal? I can't think of the word.
I was listening to EF Benson's Lucia book and thinking how little happens and how it wouldn't have a chance to be popular fiction today because of the lack of action.
