Not only did I post relatively little here this past month, I also read relatively little as well. Here's the list:

1. The Ultimatum by Dan Graziano. Lad lit. I read a review of this book last year, maybe by one of the Ja(y)nes over at Dear Author. Liked it fairly well; felt a bit impatient with both

2. Fearless Fourteen by Janet Evanovich. I'm not sure why I bothered to even borrow this one from the library. DNF.

3. Phyllida and the Brotherhood of Philander by Ann Herendeen. M/M/F, historical. Full of telling rather than showing; didn't believe in any of the relationships described; what was the point of the last third of the book? C-

4. Shalimar by Rebecca Ryman. Re-read. India, Afghanistan, Great Britain, Russia, China, all about the Great Game. Upon rereading, some of the maneuverings seemed a little Byzantine. Still enjoyed it. B-.

5. Victory of Eagles by Naomi Novik. Loved getting the POV of Temeraire without a filter. Wrote about VoE here.  B+

6. Y: The Last Man, Volume 10: Whys and Wherefores by Brian K. Vaughan et al. Glad to see the wrap up of the series. Feel like I missed something, though. B/B-.

7. Tribute by Nora Roberts. Romantic suspense. B

8. Red, Red Rose by Marjorie Farrell. Regency historical. Wrote about this one for the TBR Challenge.

9. Lord Scandal by Kalen Hughes. Georgian historical. Felt impatient and bored with both the hero and heroine all the way through. Stylistically speaking, the book was well-written, I just didn't care. Also, when did the heroine of Lord Sin and her friend become such busybody matchmakers? C

10. I Shall Not Want by Julia Spencer-Fleming. Mystery. Read once quickly, need to re-read in order to review. B

11. Into the Fire by Suzanne Brockmann. Adventure/suspense. Felt as if the main characters (Hannah and Murphy) were short-changed in order to include Eden/Izzy and the whole Sophia/Decker/Dave soap opera. This was a library book -- I may buy it when it is released in paperback, but SB moved out of hardback autobuy status with Flashpoint and now is a paperback purchase generally, with exception made for Jules books. B-/C+

12. Cry Wolf by Patricia Briggs. Urban fantasy. Still thinking about this book. I enjoyed it, but it didn't appeal as much as Briggs' Mercedes Thompson series or the Hurog books. Maybe a function of POV? B/B+
