SBD: how is an unplanned pregnancy romantic?

This is only tangentially an SBD. Unplanned pregnancy -- romantic? or not? I'm saying not. What has this on my mind today? The errands I ran this morning, since they both exposed me to the Maury Povich show. Blech. It was on the tv in the waiting room at the mechanic's and at the laundry. My oil is now changed and my throw rugs are clean, but my mind has been polluted.

How is it sexy or romantic to have a boyfriend/SO who is so suspicious of you that you have to take a frickin' lie detector test before he'll believe you haven't been cheating? How is having sex with so many people that you aren't sure who the father of your children is sexy? How is having sex with stranger and ending up pregnant romantic? And do you really expect an HEA when it happens?

This last item is why secret baby books so don't work for me. Argue all you want about two parents being necessary for a healthy child; the idea that two strangers will fall in love and live happily ever after just because a condom broke or because a heroine lied about her birth control or just because no birth control short of sterilization is 100% effective? It's a crock.

But that's just my opinion and I can be a judgmental bitch.
