Exiled from home
Oct. 23rd, 2006 10:06 amThis morning I cleared out the kitchen but for the stove, fridge and washer -- who knew I had that much stuff in there? The only lower cabinets in the kitchen are movable, but I hadn't done so since moving in (4 years ago), for fear of what I might find. Good god, there were dust bunnies the size of my cat hiding back there. I knew about the spot under the fridge that is sort of furry (don't know what exactly the basis of the spot is, but the fur was years of dust that I couldn't scrub away even with a wire scrub-brush), but had managed to erase it from my memory until this morning.
I bolted once Mr. Deon and his nephew arrived and started maneuvering the fridge. He thinks the tile, floor and painting will be done by Wednesday night or Thursday afternoon. Yay. A pretty new kitchen and a living room that I can walk in again.
Poor Bashful was crouched under the papasan chair upstairs. She's going to be sulky and standoffish for days. She hates strangers in the house, especially strangers who disturb her schedule and prevent her from lounging in her favorite spots like the kitchen window sill.
