Adjusting my attitude
Jan. 15th, 2006 09:41 amI've noticed that I've been in a foul mood lately, ready to find fault in everything. I'm not sure what my problem is; I mean, nothing is happening now that wasn't happening before the holidays and my mood was fine then. Work is work. Home is good. My love life sucks, but that is nothing new. I've just been feeling sour and "glass half empty" lately. It's time for an attitude adjustment; I'm determined not to post anything whiney or judgmental, other than book reviews. If anyone catches me doing otherwise, I'll have to pay a forfeit of some kind.
Let the pleasantness commence.
Went to the post office yesterday, the main one that stays open until 5pm on Saturdays (Nicole, Wolf Tales is on its way to you), and found that they have implemented a new program to get people through line faster. Since it is the main post office for the city and the region, it does a huge amount of business, especially on Saturday afternoons, because the neighborhood offices tend to close at noon. Anyway, now a postal service employee patrols the line of people waiting with a roll of tape, pens, certified mail slips and other miscellaneous things that people forget or need to use to mail their parcels and packages. That way, everything really is ready to go when you get up to the employee behind the counter. The line moved much faster than it used to.
Postal aside: the 2 cent stamps that have been issued for make up postage for those of us who still have leftover 37 cent stamps are really cool, with a Navajo necklace on them. You can check them out here.
