Book blurb and a link

A recent interview with Alan Rickman has been brought to my attention by The Biochemist, who believes that Severus Snape is not a baddy. Check it out here.

I haven't posted about many books lately. Read Diana Peterfreund's debut Secret Society Girl. Eh. I'm trying to figure out what it is -- it was okay, but it was the kind of YA-ish/chick litish book that should have loved. But I didn't.

The Omnivore's Dilemma is making me think about the stuff I put in my mouth. And in my gas tank. And on my body.

Wow. I can't believe he's 60! Although, as he rightly says, age doesn't matter, it still surprised me.

Age

I wouldn't have guessed that he was 60, more like early 50s. The Biochemist (who adores Rickman in all roles, not just as Snape) complained when he was cast as Snape that he is at least 20 years too old, given the Harry Potter timeline. Her general complaint is that everyone cast to be a contemporary of Harry's parents is too old -- Snape, Sirius, Remus, Peter Pettigrew. They are supposed to be mid to late 30s, but all look to be mid to late 40s at least.
