Dear Editors for Big NY Publishing Houses,

Soul =/= sole, even though they sound the same.  

And there is no such word as "inbalance".  There is "imbalance" or "unbalanced", which mean what I think the author was trying to say.

Please to pay attention to these little things.

It's my humble opinion that publishers (especially imprints that put out mass-market genre fiction) don't pay proofreaders enough, which means they can't get qualified people, which means there are mistakes in their books. But they want to keep costs low and volume high, so it's not going to change.

I understand this intellectually -- fewer employees = less overhead = more profit. But reading stuff like that drives me crazy still.
