More on Blackwater

Check out the transcript and/or video of Amy Goodman's interview of Bill Sizemore -- reporter from the Virginian-Pilot who was nominated for a Pulitzer prize for his Blackwater coverage -- and Jeremy Scahill about the new developments in the legal case filed by the parents of the four contractors/mercenaries killed in Fallujah. Questions about jurisdiction, privacy, immunity, and the web of business and political connections. Does it strike anyone else as inappropriate that William Webster is on the arbitration panel?

Whoa! Talk about chutzpah! I had no idea that Blackwater was suing the estates of the contractors (or maybe just the administrators) for $10 million. I'd love to read that complaint.

Ahh! It's so funny to see you mention this because Bill Sizemore is totally my dad, can you believe that? It's been a huge year for him with all this Blackwater stuff. We were really hoping for the Pulitzer; April 16 was a very disappointing day. Stupid old LA Times. But we're proud of him anyway. ;)

Dad sent me the link to this this morning, along with the comment that he thinks he talked too slowly. Lol. He doesn't have much of an accent, but he is very southern in the pacing of his speech, isn't he?

Congratulations to your dad for being nominated, and I'm sorry he didn't win.

He *is* southern in his speech pattern, but not so much in the accent. In comparison, Jeremy Scahill seemed to speak a lot faster.
