Accent

My accent, courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] jperceval.

Is Maryland the Northeast? I've been told by different people that I have no accent (per the California guy) or a Southern accent (according to the guy from Maine). Eh.

What American accent do you have?
Your Result: The Northeast

Judging by how you talk you are probably from north Jersey, New York City, Connecticut or Rhode Island. Chances are, if you are from New York City (and not those other places) people would probably be able to tell if they actually heard you speak.

I got the same result and I'm also from Maryland. Go figure.

I'm a little surprised there was no question about "water"...which is often pronounced "wooder" or "wad-er". But then, native Baltimorians (which I'm not) have a very distinct accent, I think, separable from the rest of the state.

Hey, my result looks almost exactly like yours, only... my accent actually doesn't *sound* American, according to the people I meet in my freelance job as a tour guide. I apparently sound vaguely British. Go figure!

That was a fun quiz! They say I have a Philadelphia accent and I grew up in Virginia. I guess it's not too far off, but not exactly.
