That *boom* you just heard?

Was my head exploding as I read the article on Forbes.com that tells men not to marry career women. Who are defined as women with college educations working outside the home making $30,000 or more. Because we are bitchy, sloppy, lazy, cheating whiners who are more interested in money than in being June Cleaver.

I'm hoping that it was intended to be tongue in cheek -- it's statistics were vague, and the citations incomplete (journals, but not articles or volumes) -- and I just missed the humor. But man, the vitriol on the discussion boards at Forbes!

It was apparently taken down, then reposted with a rebuttal by another writer.

I dunno

I guess if it's the whole "there is no bad press" applies, then yes, it is good. It increased their webtraffic, I'm sure, and got lots of linkage, but will it really net more readers? Won't the gain be offset by the people who were disgusted and cancelled their subscriptions?
