e-book info

There is a fascinating thread at AAR right now, on the message board for the At the Back Fence column. There has been some author ugliness, yet again. As Kristie(J) says, there must be something in the water. In any case, the thing that I find interesting is information that Jaid Black, creator-owner of Ellora's Cave has provided about e-books, e-publishing, and Ellora's Cave sales.

Also re: e-books, I've read my e-book for AngieW's May reading challenge, now I just have to write a review. I haven't felt like writing reviews lately -- they take too much work.

Also on the e-book front, I love my eBookwise. I've bought a bunch of books and downloaded them, and I've almost talked a colleague into buying one :)

Good lord, don't these authors realize how much this affect whether people buy their books? Jesus, some of that was so unbelievably middle school. But really cool stats about EC.

Yep, for some of the posts, I thought the posters belonged out on a playground.

I keep thinking about joining AAR's board, then I think again. Really, one does not need so much bad stuff in her life.

I'll probably post my TBR challenge review in the next few days. It's been read, written and...not yet posted.

I know how you feel about reviews, JM. So I write as many as I can when I feel like it, and then post one every few days.

I've just been lazy about reviews generally. I've got about 10 books that I've read and ought to review, but just can't get motivated. Part of it is that I'm not sure how to articulate what dissatisfied me about the books - for the most part, they weren't bad, just forgettable. And another part is that I'd rather sit out on my front porch and chat with my neighbors on nice evenings, instead of writing reviews. I'll buckle down and write at least one review tonight, I'll force myself to. And maybe do a brief book report -- blurb for each -- just to clear the decks.
