Talk Nerdy to Me by Vickie Lewis Thompson

Another DNF for me. I've been pretty out of sorts lately, disgruntled with things going on at work and at home, so my tolerance for a book that is anything less than a B+ is pretty low. The first hundred pages of Talk Nerdy to Me weren't awful but they weren't great, either. Thompson seemed to be trying to make the heroine cute and quirky, but she came across as strange and goofy (not in a charming way, either) to me. The hero - meh. The conflict/plot and the secondary characters verged on ridiculous. To the discard pile and posted on PBS.

Next, please.

I read the first Nerd book (can't even remember the title), and decided to spare my wall and give the others a miss. Gack. Bleah.

I liked the first one - Nerd in Shining Armor but haven't bothered reading the following books. Blah.

It was pretty blah. I'm not too upset about it, though, since it was a library sale book rather than a full-price-purchase. I hate spending $7 or $8 on a book that I can't finish.

I tried to read the first one and it was a DNF and so was the second (should have learned the first time) and I haven't even been tempted since.

You know, JMC, just the title alone would have been a deterrent :-)
