Basic typesetting

Belle Books, I'm pretty disappointed in the quality of the typesetting and copy editing I saw in The Crossroads Cafe. I noticed multiple instances of the dropped words -- missing nouns and conditional clauses. And even more often I saw ellipses that began on one line and then carried to another. Big no no! And dialogue that ended substantively on one line with only the punctuation and quotation marks on the next line. Even worse!

I understand you are a small press, Belle Books, but after the third or fourth occurence, I was itching for a red pen. I can't remember seeing so many irritating errors since I read my last LKH book a few years back.

Ah - when reading the arc, you just assume that those errors would get corrected. That's too bad.

I always wonder how much editing or revising is done after ARCs or sent out. Do the little things get caught? Or only major errors?
